Dentures and Partials

A denture is a removable dental appliance designed replace gaps caused by missing teeth. The appliance can keep the teeth and mouth functioning, enabling patients to smile, talk and eat with confidence.

The two types of dentures are called complete and partial. Complete dentures are used when all teeth are missing, and partial dentures only replace missing teeth. In this instance, partial dentures also prevent other teeth from moving positions. This therefore protects the health and appearance of neighbouring teeth, an important side benefit.

Usually, our patients have dentures for the following reasons:

• Complete loss of teeth in upper, lower or both arches.
• Partial loss of teeth in the upper, lower or both arches.
• Enhancing smile and facial features.
• Improving chewing, speech and digestion.

Dentures are designed to be strong and durable. Occasionally, dentures may need to be remade, repaired or readjusted due to regular wear and tear. Our dental laboratory takes care of this for our patients.
